Alaaeddine Chaarani is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Universitat de Girona, set to graduate in September 2025. Alaaeddine is involved in the development of various systems, including docking systems for autonomous underwater vehicles, modeling, and manufacturing. His primary goal is to propose a fully autonomous solution for both static and dynamic docking. Additionally, Alaaeddine is responsible for building the Mini Girona AUV, a prototype that represents a simplified version of the Girona AUV, allowing students to test and perform tasks related to vision, machine learning, automation, and manipulation. This Ph.D. aligns with Alaaeddine's previous experience in mechanical, electrical and computer engineering.
EducationSolidworks, freecad, Fusion360. I did develop may designs including Mini Girona AUV, Girona Docking station, 3-DOF wireless charger latching system
CNC, laser cutting, bending, 3D printing, and hard anodization are used to manufacture the various modeled designs.
ROS, blender, Gazebo and stonefish are different platforms used to develop the robotic systems.
Python, and C++ are used to program and code related application to computer vision, autonomous behavior and manipulation of the robots.
